Malaspina University-College is located on picturesque Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Like NVCC, it is composed of multiple campuses and features numerous disciplines of study. Malaspina’s arts program is centered in Nanaimo, and offers both bachelor degrees in fine arts and diplomas in graphic design.

The two-year design program is highly selective at Malaspina. Applicants must present a portfolio of work for consideration, submit a written statement of goals, letters of recommendation, and undergo an interview with the Art Department Selection Committee prior to admission. A limited number of students is accepted each year. They then enroll as full-time students for the 66-credit, two-year program of study. Entry to the second year of the curriculum is competitive, and is based on G.P.A. and quality of portfolio.

This show is composed of the actual final presentation boards of Malaspina’s graduating class of 2003 in Graphic Design. It displays numerous solutions to real-world design problems, and offers NVCC students and our community a glimpse of some of the best emerging talents in international design and style from western Canada.
