Anthony Cervino’s sculptures playfully examine how boyhood toys, crafts and games intersect with definitions of art and commodity.   His artwork is broadly engages art-historical precedents, as well as notions of structure, identity, and memory.  Within his work Cervino strives to set up a number of opposing relationships such as the discord between the hand and the machine, the whole and its parts, completeness to incompleteness, as well as flirting with the ever-present association of art and commodity.
