Add a Librarian
to Your Blackboard Course
A librarian with the role of Course Builder can add library-related content to your Blackboard course.
The Course Builder role does not allow access to student grades.
1. Log into your Blackboard course.
2. In the Control Panel, select Users and Groups à Users.
3. Select Enroll User.
4. In the “Role” dropdown menu, select “Course Builder.”
5. Enter the Username of one of the librarians in the “Username” box.
6. Click on Submit, and let us know we’ve been added.
Or, Add Library Resources Yourself
First, create a Library Resources menu button (Above the menu, click on the + button à Create Content Area).
Then, add content to that button (Click on the newly created button à Create Item). Some suggestions:
- Library home page: www.nvcc.edu/library
- Use “Books & More” to find both print and ebooks.
- Use “Articles & More” to use online databases to find articles from magazines, journals & newspapers.
Sample searches: global warming AND polar bears climate change AND polar bears
- Use “E-Books & E-Videos” to view online books and videos
