Add a NOVA Librarian to Your Blackboard
Course
A librarian with the role of Course Builder can add library-related content to your Blackboard course.
The Course Builder role does not allow access to student grades.
1. Log into your Blackboard course.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Select Enroll User.
4. Search for one of the librarians by email address. Be sure to select the Email search option.
5. Click in the Add box to the left of the librarian’s name. You will likely see two options for the librarian – select the one where the username does not include a _student suffix.
6. Click on Submit.
By default, the librarian will be added as a Student. Here’s how to change that status to Course Builder:
1. In the Control Panel, select List/Modify Users.
2. You can search by email address or by last name.
3. To the right of the librarian’s name, select Properties.
4. Scroll down to the Role & Availability section.
5. Select “Course Builder,” and make sure the “Available” drop down menu is set to “Yes.”
6. Click on Submit, and let us know we’ve been added.
Or, Add Library
Resources Yourself
First, create a Library Resources menu button (Control Panel à Course Options-Manage Course Menu à +Content Area).
Then, add content to that button (Control Panel à Content Areas-Library Resources à +Item).
