Northern Virginia Community College offers you a wide array of academic, social and cultural opportunities.
At NOVA, you can earn a two-year associates degree that will transfer to a four-year university, or you can choose a degree program in one of the technical or occupational fields.
Many international students begin at the college by focusing on intensive English-Language study in order to strengthen their English language skills. You will take a placement test once you arrive at the college, and the results of that test will determine which English class is most appropriate for you.
While attending Northern Virginia Community College, you can participate in a variety of student activities that will enhance your college experience. Student clubs and college events will offer you opportunities to become acquainted with students from the United States and from around the world. In addition, the college provides support to students who may want academic advice, career planning, or academic tutoring. You may also want to explore the possibility of volunteer activities at the college or in the community.
Often international students have completed university studies or have earned university credits in their own countries. You may be able to transfer some of those credits to your academic program at Northern Virginia Community College. We can help you determine whether this is possible.
