All campuses and administrative offices will open as scheduled on Wed., Oct. 31. All day and evening classes and activities will proceed as normal. Please refresh your browser for the latest update.

Tues. Oct. 30, 2012 -- NOVA Closing Update

All campuses and administrative offices remain closed today, Tues. Oct., 30. Since NOVA is experiencing sporadic power outages, by 5 p.m. today, we will announce the opening status for Wed., Oct. 31.

Tues. Oct., 30, 2012 -- NOVA Closed

All campuses and administrative offices are closed due to the weather Tues., Oct. 30. All day and evening classes & activities are cancelled.

Mon., Oct. 29, 2012 -- NOVA Closed

All campuses and administrative offices are closed due to the weather Mon., Oct. 29. All day and evening classes & activities are cancelled.

Sun., Oct. 28, 2012 -- NOVA is closely monitoring the movement of Hurricane Sandy as the storm moves closer toward our region. Current forecasts expect the storm to impact the area from Sunday, Oct. 28 until Tuesday, Oct. 30. There are warnings of heavy rains, damaging winds, flooding and possible power outages.

In preparation for the storm, please consider the following precautions:

  • Monitor weather reports for the latest details through local TV stations, radio and online. Sources: The Weather Channel, WTOP 103.5 FM, the National Weather Service, the Weather Channel website.

  • Sign up for NOVA Alert if you haven’t done so already.
  • Assemble and prepare supplies that include canned foods, water, a flashlight with extra batteries, first aid supplies and medicines in case of a power outage.
  • During severe weather, take shelter in a small interior room, closet or hallway on the lowest level.

The College will provide updates through NOVA Alert, the website and social media.
