This site has a variety of ways to be useful. I hope. If not so much, let me know, but here are some ways I tried to make the site useful.

  • Writing assignment help. There is a discussion of the writing process which includes some tips on how to get started and descriptions of some of the most commonly assigned essays.
  • Reference. There are descriptions of various aspects of the English Language. This includes a lengthy list of problems many of us have with the dialect called "Standard English." When to use "who" or "lay" or "effect" or bunches of others. You can find a complete list on the Information Page.
  • A few elaborations on the ideas and theories upon which I approach teaching writing skills. If you have one or two of your own ideas, send them in.

For those interested in a closer study of some writing skill, I have devised a three step approach called The Learnatron.

  1. Step One: Write what you know.
  2. Step Two: Write what you learn
  3. Step Three: Create a dialogue in which you teach the skill.

There are all kinds of worksheets and descriptions and silliness throughout the program to help with the Learnatron, but I suggest you begin by going to the EZ Print Directions Page. This gives an easy step by easy step sweet and gentle leading through the Learnatron process. And, it's EZ to Print!!!
