The (Epcot) Essays Page: "Essay" means a writing in which you express your opinion. Yeah! Originally essay meant a writing in which you used the writing to explore an idea. I, personally, like to comine these two meanings: a writing in which I explore an idea in order to form an opinion. What I wrote in the Ideas Section are essays. If you read any of them, let me know what you think.
The latest essay I'm working on has to do with teaching essay writing--if you have any experiences you'd like to share, or ideas about this topic, I'd love to see them. Thanks,
"Essay" also means a kind of assignment you get a lot. Sigh. The program contains discussions on some of the more commonly assigned types of essays. You may be at a place and time where your teacher wants you to learn these forms. That's why they're here. Eventually you get to where you use some, or all of the forms to write a dynamite paper. But if you need to write in a certain form, here they are. Then take your project through the Drafting and Editing stages.
