The (So) Standard English Page:

Standard English is what people mean when they say, "good" or "bad" English.

This program focusses on Standard English, because it is the dialect that is generally the most appropriate to use in school. Also, as an air breathing human being, you are already an expert in the many other dialects you use outside of school/work.

If you're an enquiring mind who wants to know more, check out "Why Standard English" and/or the Dialogue about Standard English.

Here's a list of standard English issues in this program so far. If you have suggestions or wants, please email , meanwhile, click on the term that interests you.
