TI's own guidebooks for 83 and the 89 • guides you can print (about ten pages each) to Excel and the TI-83 from Houghton Houghton Mifflin • need-to-know for TI-89 from Prentice-Hall • terrific guide for statistics on the 83 or 84, about 40 pages, by Derek Collis To do statistics on a TI-89, you need to register at the TI web site and get special software called StatLE found at education.ti.com. I recommend this concise manual for the software. You also need the mega-download of TI-Connect software to install anything on the 89. Here are TI's instructions for everything. Once you have both pieces and have the computer and 89 wired together, use the mouse to drop the StatLE icon on the TI-Connect icon. There is no need to get the new operating system that they offer. Good luck, and come see me if you're having trouble. |
