Biography
Mr. Petrie has over 40 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He enjoys sharing his experience with his students and strives to make the course time enjoyable as well as informative. He has been programming in Visual Basic since 1994. He wrote his first programs in the basic programming language in 1974.
Work Experience
Mr. Petrie has worked for multiple computer companies including Control Data Corporation, Digital Equipment Corporation, and DELL. He has worked for software companies in the capacity of Vice President of sales and marketing and was a pioneer in technical solutions for the Year 2000. He developed a go-to-market strategy for applying Service Oriented Architectures to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for publically traded companies.
Mr. Petrie was also a principal at Booz-Allen-Hamilton and James Martin & Co.
He holds a BSBA from The American University in Washington, DC. and is an alumnus of Northern Virginia Community College.
