[from Administrative Council Notes - 3-3-09]
Summer session.
The Administrative Council
approved the recommendation of the Ad Hoc Budget Crisis Committee work
group for the reduction of full-time faculty work load during the summer
session from 10 credit hours at pro-rata full-time pay to a maximum of
6 credit hours at pro-rata pay. Due to the stimulus funding, the
college will be able to implement this in stages over a two-year period.
Effective Summer 2009, faculty summer pay rates will be a maximum of 8
credit hours at pro-rata pay with up to 4 additional credit hours at the
overload rate. Effective Summer 2010, faculty summer pay rates will
be a maximum of 6 credit hours at a pro-rata rate with the number of additional
credit hours at overload rate yet to be determined.
As recommended by the Personnel
Services Committee and the Ad Hoc Budget Crisis Committee, consideration
will be given to initiating a voluntary leave of absence for 12-month professional
and administrative faculty and classified staff.
| Notice the different wording from Dr. Templin's email message. No mention of VCCS policy. Wording looks much more like a permanent change to summer compensation. Now the 12-month leaves of absence are "...consideration will be given...." not "We may also initiate a voluntary leave of absence for select areas of the college...." |
