Mr. R. Asante Clarke has served as Program Head/Professor in the Human Services/Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program for the past twelve years at the Northern Virginia Community College - Alexandria Campus. He is a high energy instructor who involves the students in his lectures. Asante teaches the following courses:

 

HMS 109-Structured Career Planning in Human Services

HMS 121 - 122-Basic Counseling Skills I &II

HMS 141 - 142-Group Dynamics I &II

HMS 225 - Functional Family Intervention

HMS 266 - Counseling Psychology

HMS 290-Coordinated Internship

 

Fall 2000 courses and office hours:

 

Asante shares and motivates individuals to better their abilities, talents, and skills by maximizing their total potentials. He has worked with school age children, adolescents, and adults on various topics and he has spoken to the recovering population on the issues of preventing relapse and personal discovery. Asante will educate, enlighten and entertain you. He has written numerous articles on discovering one’s abilities and personal self-tooling. For the past twenty years, he has worked with the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Asante encourages individuals to pursue their interests with integrity, purpose, and relentless determination to better their lives.
