Monitor adjustments

Monitors are hard on everyone's eyes, even when they are perfectly adjusted.  Users with vision difficulties may find a few adjustments worth making.

Because they involve changing system controls, if you are not comfortable changing things in Windows, you may want to get someone else to do make these changes for you.

Screen resolution.

Screen resolution can be adjusted in Windows.  Default resolution usually displays 800 pixels across the screen.  You can change this to a larger resolution of 640 pixels.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on settings
  3. Click on Control Panel

  1. Double-click on Display
  2. Choose the Settings tab
  3. Move the "Desktop Area" slider to the left

You can also enlarge the mouse pointer most Windows controls

  1. Follow steps 1-4 above

  2. Click on the "Appearance" tab

  1. under the "Scheme" menu at the bottom, select Windows Standard (extra large) or Windows Starard (large)
