ALIGN allows your tables to have text flowing around them in a manner similar to what is often done with images.
Floating tables are good for text layout effects like breakouts.

Once upon a time . . . in a great castle, a Prince's daughter grew up happy and contented, in spite of a jealous stepmother. She was very pretty, with blue eyes and long black hair. Note: ALIGN can be specified for left, right, or center. However align=center won't take on 3-level browsers. Instead, put a <center> tag around the outside of your table code.
