Finding and using graphics

Every image you see on the web can be saved (or stolen) as a local file. Just right-click on the image and save it to your floppy or hard disk.

There are many, many sites that encourage you to save their images for use on your own pages. Below are just a few to get you started.

Clip art links

AOLPress clipart - This is a tiny page compared to everything else here, but what's here strikes me as being professional and useable www.aolpress.com/gallery/

A+ Art - This one has been around for a few years now, and has solid, usable bars, bullets, buttons, backgrounds, and whatnot. www.aplusart.com

Barry's Clip Art Server - Lots of stuff, organized well. www.barrysclipart.com

The Mining Company's guide to web clip art seems better to me than Yahoo's clip art index. There's more of it in their web design guide, too. webclipart.miningco.com, webdesign.miningco.com

The American Memory collections at the Library of Congress are fascinating, high quality and easy to search.memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/finder.html

The Artchive has reproductions of masters paintings filed by artist name. www.artchive.com
