Next class: Sunday November 7, 1999

Designing WWW Pages - Advanced - is a workshop for people who already have some experience designing basic pages in HTML. They should be skilled with Windows 95 and comfortable reading HTML coding.  Most of the work we will do in this workshop will involve editing page code directly, instead of working through a WYSIWYG editor like Netscape Composer.

Most people enroll in these workshops to learn technical things, and most of what we do today will be technical.  However I will try to view technologies from a design or at least usage point of view - not just what a technology can do, but how and why people use it.
Because students will vary greatly in their skills and interests, the format of this workshop will likely be a little loose - there won't be a single line of instruction I can follow for everyone. Make today's time your own, and just try to learn several new things. If this requires you to work on some other things while I talk, it's fine by me.
