Hybrid
courses blend in-class teaching and online learning. A significant
portion of the learning activities are moved online and time spent
in the classroom is reduced but not eliminated. According to Garnham
and Kaleta from the Learning Technology Center of the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, the goal of hybrid courses is to blend the best
features of in-class teaching with the best features of online learning
to promote active independent learning and reduce class seat time.
