My background is architecture and fine arts. I studied building construction
in Italy at a technical institute and after graduation I worked as chief draftsman for Giancarlo Noseda,
a relatively prominent architect in the early 1960s. I restarted this activity, for a brief
period, in the 1980s, drafting for Commonwealth Restorations in Arlington
Virginia. Concurrently, over the years, I also painted and sculpted. I obtained a B.FA. from the University of Florida in 1969, and a M.F.A from the University of Maryland in 1972. I have been teaching at NVCC, Annandale campus, since 1974. I have also taught at the University of Maryland as a graduate assistant, at Greater Hartford C.C., and the Athenaeum, in Hartford Connecticut. I designed and built, almost single handedly, two residences, one in Italy in the '60, the other in Arlington Va. in 1981. In 1982 had the opportunity of carving five statues for the pulpit of Grace Episcopal Church, Russell Rd. Alexandria, Virginia. I produced illustrations for the magazine Popular Mechanics. I wrote and illustrated two manuals on fine art drawing, and created in conjunction a televised course also on fine art drawing for NVCC. I exhibit and sell my paintings. Over the years I have also been involved in countless small projects for local businesses, friends and acquaintances. I have been involved with CG for the past 13 yeas. I feel that I am an accomplished artist, I do not relay exclusively on software gimmickry and excuses of having or not having a particular type of software for doing my work.
