| ENG111/9 | This course constitutes the first semester of the Freshman English sequence and includes a lab session which meets in a computer lab in addition to the regular class meeting . The class sessions are organized as writing workshops, and all writing will be evaluated by means of a portfolio. For this course, students need basic keyboarding skills. |
| ENG 1 | This course will help students improve basic writing skills. It includes individualized and group work as well as frequent teacher conferences. Concentrated work on the elements of the writing process and review of grammar constructions will increase student writing confidence. |
| ENG 3 | This course prepares students for ENG 111 by emphasizing strategies within the writing process to assist students with various writing tasks necessary for the next level of English. Class work will emphasize improvement of grammar, spelling and punctuation along with the writing of paragraphs and essays. Evaluation will be by a portfolio of writing. |
| ESL 013 | This course will help non-native speakers improve their basic writing skills in preparation for entering ENG 111. It includes individualized and group work as well as teacher conferences and class discussions to improve grammar and the writing of paragraphs and essays. Evaluation will be by a writing portfolio. |
| ENG 116 | This course develops ability in business writing through extensive practice in composing business correspondence and other documents. Students are guided in achieving voice, tone, style and content appropriate to a specific audience and purpose. Included are selected instruction in editing techniques and grammar. |
