- All Applied
Music students are responsible for accurate enrollment for lessons in the
specific instrument and credit hours of study. See class schedule or
call the Liberal Arts Division Office.
- A minimum of 13
lessons per semester are required in order to receive credit. Students
will receive an F for the semester if they do not take the required
lessons and do not drop.
- Each student is
expected to pay the assessed fees ($25.00 per half hour for one
credit or $50 per hour for two credits) directly to the assigned Applied
Music instructor in a manner agreed upon. Outstanding financial
obligations may result in placing a hold on the student’s records.
- All lessons
should be attended promptly at the assigned time. Missed
lessons must be paid for if a 24 hour notification is not made. For
emergency cancellations, the instructor may use his/her discretion for
rescheduling the music lesson.
- At the
suggestion of the instructor, the students are encouraged to attend and/or
perform in repertoire sessions, student recitals, graduation performances
and campus concerts.
- All Applied
Music students should contact the Liberal Arts Division Office for
instructor assignment. Names will be kept in the Liberal Arts Division
Office and posted on the bulletin board near the practice rooms.
- All Applied
Music students who are music majors and taking hour lessons must take a
final examination jury at the end of the semester in their major
instrument. Exceptions to the jury requirement are auditors and non-music
majors.
- Music majors
should meet with their faculty advisor at least once during the academic
year. Contact the Liberal Arts Division Office for an appointment..
