English 244--English Literature

English 244 is a study of English Literature from the Romantics to the Present. From the Romantic Period, the writers include Blake, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Byron, and Shelley. From the Victorian Period, the course will focus on Tennyson, the Brownings, Hardy, Ruskin, Carlyle, and the Rossettis. The course concludes with a study of the twentieth century writers: Joyce, Lawrence, Woolf, Yeats, Owen, Mansfield, Heaney, and Lessing. As with English 243, the course integrates the politics, history, art, and music of the time.

I will not be teaching English 244 this semester.
