For a sixteen-week course, if you wish to change from credit to audit status, you must do so by January 26. Changing from credit to audit means that you no longer wish to receive a grade for the course. Instead, what appears on your transcript is an "X." The "X" is different from a "W." The "X" indicates that you want to remain in the course, receive the instruction, do the assignments, and receive feedback on them. In contrast, a "W" means that you no longer may attend class, do the assignments, and receive feedback on them. If you choose an "X," I treat you the same as I do any credit student. If you choose a "W," my responsibilities to you as a student have ended.

An X does not adversely affect your transcript or grade point average. If you choose this option, you should fill out a "Change from Credit to Audit" form--NVCC 125-012--at the Student Services Center in the Bisdorf Building. Then give the form to me. I will sign it and have my division dean sign and submit it.

After January 26, you may no longer change from credit to audit status.
