Each week of class, you have assignments. These usually include watching a video, reading a chapter of The Art of Public Speaking, and participating in Blackboard discussions.

Set aside at least three hours each week to work on these assignments.

There are 12 weeks in the summer session.

In addition, you'll want to build in time to research and rehearse your presentation. .Professional speakers spend 20 hours preparing for each minute of talk time.

Please note that there are four mandatory class sessions. Failure to attend even one of these sessions means that you are missing 25 percent of class time. .Missing class for any reason will severely hurt your grade for the course.

  • Tuesday, July 1
  • Tuesday, July 22

Don't procrastinate in this course! Your classmates are depending upon you to assist them in preparing and delivering their talks as well.
