Lab 10 requires that you perform some community service. There are links here to organizations which would welcome you as a volunteer.

Potomac River Watershed Cleanup   This group does a cleanup once a year at a number of different sites. 

Fairfax Releaf.  Click on the volunteer button on the left to get information. There are monthly activities listed.

The Alexandria Seaport Foundation. Click on the volunteer button on the left and then select Wetlands. There is a lengthy list of volunteer activities that are scheduled for both Alexandria and Arlington.

Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment.  There are many volunteer activities available. We prefer that you select an activity that directly helps the environment such as the stream cleanups and storm drain markings. 

Potomac Conservancy.   This group protects sensitive land throughout the Potomac Watershed. On the left of the screen, click on Join Us and then on Volunteer Opportunities. There is a great deal of information about possible volunteer work. The Calendar of Events lists the dates for various activities. 

Friends of the Occoquan. This is an organization of citizens who preserve and maintain the integrity of the Occoquan River and other Virginia watersheds. You can contact them for volunteer opportunites.
