ELI BIO 102 |
| You must take the exams for this course
online at an NVCC Testing Center. However, you may take the practice quizzes
at home.
Make sure that you read this entire page before planning to take an exam. The exams are based on the ELI Biology Study Guide objectives. In order to prepare for the exams, you should use these objectives as your guide and concentrate on them rather than on trying to learn everything in the textbook. One way to study that students have found highly effective is to write down all the learning objectives, then close your book, and write out a response, or an answer, to the objective, that is, describe, list, discuss, or explain, as directed in the objective. It is strongly encouraged that you take
the practice quizzes before you take the exams. They provide feedback which
is valuable in determining your readiness for the exam. In taking the practice
quizzes, you should not only concentrate on why the right answer is correct,
but why the wrong answer is wrong. That will ensure that you truly understand
what the question is asking.
You can reach the Blackboard site at http://www.nvcc.edu/bbstart/ Go to one of NVCC's Testing Centers to
take the exams. You must bring a photo ID as well as the appropriate
exam
pass. You need your EMPLID number
for your exam pass. The EMPLID replaces your Social Security number. You
will not be allowed to take the exam without your photo ID and an exam
pass. At the Testing Center, the proctor will ask you to log on
and enter your user name and password to get to the exams. The exams are
password protected; the proctor will enter the password.
E-mail your instructor when you have taken an exam. Please include the following information in the subject line of your e-mail:
If you cannot travel to a campus testing center, you may request a proctor at another location. ELI requires that a proctor be a staff member at a testing center at a college or univerity. |
