Get Fit, Stay Fit by William E. Prentice. Available in the Manassas Campus Bookstore.
MEMBERSHIP:
All students in this class will be required to purchase a limited membership
at a designated local gym in Manassas. The cost is $30.00.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is a necessity! Regular attendance at classes is required.
Absences equal to 20% of the scheduled instructional time for a course
will be defined as unsatisfactory progress unless the instructor has made
other arrangements for the individual student to complete the course objectives.
Any instruction missed and not made up will necessarily affect the grade
of the student, regardless of the reason for the absence.

You can only make up one missed workout unless there is some unusual circumstance.
MISSED TEST:
If you miss a test because of illness or an emergency situation, get
in touch with the instructor as soon as possible.
PERSONAL HEALTH:
Any student who feels they have a physical impairment or related problems
that may interfere with class participation, should inform the instructor
as soon as possible.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is the study of fitness and wellness and how they relate to a
healthy lifestyle. The content will define fitness and wellness, evaluate
the students level of fitness and wellness, and motivate the student to
incorporate physical fitness and wellness into daily living.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE:
The student will understand and apply the principles in promoting and
maintaining total wellness and physical fitness.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
While meeting at the gym, the student must do their workout at the
scheduled class time (I want to see you exercising). Also, the student
must stay and exercise for a minimum of one hour for each class that meets
at the gym.
Students should wear or change into appropriate exercise clothing and shoes for their workout. Bring a small towel to clean your perspiration off the equipment. Be sure to re-rack all the weight plates after you use them.
Students will check their name on the roll sheet at the front counter when they come to class, and they will put the date on the roll sheet when they come for their drop-in times.
STUDENT CONDUCT:
All students will be held accountable for misconduct and for academic dishonesty as stated in the Student Handbook.
OFFICE HOURS WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN CLASS.
