MEMBERSHIP:
All students in this class will be required to purchase a limited membership
at Olympus Gym in Manassas. The cost is $30.00.
ATTENDANCE:
Regular attendance at classes is required. Absences equal to 20% of
the scheduled instructional time for a course will be defined as unsatisfactory
progress unless the instructor has made other arrangements for the individual
student to complete the course objectives. Any instruction missed and not
made up will affect the grade of the student, regardless of the reason
for the absence.

Any student who feels they have a physical impairment or related problems
that may interfere with class participation, should inform the instructor
as soon as possible. If you have a diagnosed and documented disability
which may cause you to have difficulties with any portion of the requirements

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is the study of fitness and wellness and how they relate to a
healthy lifestyle. The content will define fitness and wellness, evaluate
the student's level of fitness and wellness, and motivate the student to
incorporate physical fitness and wellness into daily living. In addition
the student will design and implement a personal fitness/wellness program.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE:
The student will understand and apply the principles involved in promoting
and maintaining total wellness and physical fitness.

While meeting at Olympus Gym, the student must do their workout at the scheduled class time (I want to see you exercising). The student must stay and exercise for a minimum of one hour for each class that meets at Olympus Gym.
Students should wear (or change into) appropriate exercise clothing and shoes for their workout. Also, bring a small towel to clean your perspiration off the equipment. Be sure to re-rack all the weight plates after you use them.
Students may only make up one work-out class they miss unless there is some unusual circumstance. Talk to the instructor if you must miss a work-out class.
STUDENT CONDUCT:
All students will be held accountable for misconduct and for academic dishonesty as stated in the Student Handbook.
PROJECT:
Students will be required to do an excercise project and a nutrition project. Explained in class.
