ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is a necessity! Regular attendance at classes is required. Absences equal to 20% of the scheduled instructional time for a course will be defined as unsatisfactory progress unless the instructor has made other arrangements for the individual student to complete the course objectives. Any instruction missed and not made up will necessarily affect the grade of the student, regardless of the reason for the absence.

Two skill tests

One written test

Class participation

The skill tests will consist of one day of shooting two rounds at 20 yards and choosing the better of the two rounds. Also, of taking the best round out of the last four days or eight rounds of shooting. The following shooting grading scale will be used:
 
138 --- up
A
107 --- 137
B
78 --- 106
C
52 --- 77
D
51 --- down
F

The written test will come from information from the book.

MISSED TESTS:
It is the student's responsibility to make arrangements for a make-up test. These arrangements should be made as soon as possible. You are responsible for any information that was covered in class while you were not there.

EQUIPMENT:
You will need to purchase at least six arrows, a finger tab, and an arm guard. All other equipment will be furnished by the school. Do not purchase arrows until instructions are given in class on how to measure for correct length and weight.

PERSONAL HEALTH:
Any student who knows or feels they have a physical impairment or any health related problem that may interfere with class participation, should inform the instructor as soon as possible.

If you have a diagnosed and documented disability which may cause you to have difficulties with any portion of the requirements of this class, please contact the instructor as soon as possible so that arrangements for suitable alternatives or accommodations can be made.

RAINY WEATHER:
We will meet for every class, regardless of the weather. Meet in MT-0106 every class period to get equipment and we will all go to the archery range together. If it is raining, our class will meet in the classroom. Bring your book, pencil, and paper on rainy days.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic skills of target archery and/or field archery; teach the importance of selecting and maintaining equipment; to teach the adherence of safety, and to emphasize proper practice techniques.

All students will be held accountable for misconduct and for academic dishonesty as stated in the Student Handbook.
