Assignment 2 (30 Points)
ImageReady Animation/Slicing vs. Dreamweaver ImageMap
This assignment is intended for you to explore the differences between using Dreamweaver
vs. ImageReady for animation and image maps. As with all assignments, create a
main index (or table of contents) page on your web server that will link to these
documents. Make sure to email the URL to the instructure 2 hours before
class.
* Final Draft Due: Oct 19
Create images using the three techniques described below in Dreamweaver and ImageReady. Where possible, these should
include multiple clickable areas and ALT tags each (one in Dreamweaver, one in
ImageReady). These will be used in your final project, so consider the subjects
carefully. Possible examples are an Ad Banner, entry/splash page to your site,
your site map, navigation bar, Historical Timeline, Instructional Timeline. Remember
not to make Animations span multiple Slices. ImageMaps can later be applied to
individual slices loaded into Dreamweaver.
Assets Due:
Dreamweaver ImageMap (10pts) - Include your ImageMap (with multiple hotspots and ALT tags) in an HTML page as part of your site.
ImageReady Slicing (10pts) - Include your Slices (with multiple links and ALT tags) in an HTML as part of your site.
ImageReady Animation (10pts) - Include your Animated GIF from ImageReady in an HTML as part of your site.
* Remember to keep in mind what you may want to do for your Flash Animation,
so you don't do the same thing for this assignment. Your Flash Animation could
be any of the above examples, including a Splash Page, Site Map, Navigation Bar,
Ad Banner, Historical Timeline, Instructional Timeline, or any other interactive
animation. In general, you will need four different interactive animations
for your final project (one ImageMap, one Sliced image, one Animated GIF, and one Flash
Animation).
