 | If you want to Audit a class, you must get instructor
approval before Census Date: September 9, 2010. |
 | See Blackboard for all class-specific information, including your class' calendar of topics and
exams. |
 | See your class calendar for all exam dates. No exams scores are
dropped, but you may make-up one exam on the last day of class. You may arrange with me to take an exam early in the Testing
Center with at least one week advance notice. |
 | I will try to accommodate any requests
for a meeting, so please contact me if you are having difficulty at
the earliest stage possible. |
 | Students with disabilities should contact Campus Disability Services (CG 211)
as soon as possible and get an Accommodation Memorandum. All information
regarding this is kept confidential. Contact
Counseling Services for more information. |
 | If the College is closed, a notice will be posted before 6:00 AM on the
NVCC web page (http://www.nvcc.edu/depts/homepage/closing.htm), on our cable television
station (channel 19, 25, 37, or 59), with the College Call Center at

County ). If the College is closed on the day of a scheduled exam, the
exam will be automatically rescheduled for the next class. Class
information on Blackboard will include Announcements related to any change in
class assignments due to a closing. |
 | Attendance policy: students will never be failed or withdrawn for missing
a certain number of classes, and no points are given for simply showing up. Unless otherwise
specified, graded assignments
are not accepted late, so missing too many classes will usually result in
failing. |
 | A Withdrawal (“W” grade) must be initiated by YOU
with appropriate paperwork BEFORE the date identified, above. If you
simply stop coming to class, you will get an "F." See
Notice to Students on Attendance and Grades.
|
 | You should plan for about two hours of work outside of class for each
hour of instruction. Feel free to work with other students outside of
class. |
 | See my FAQ on Homework for details |
 | Cell phone use during class is considered rude: please leave class to
answer a call or to do any texting. If you are using your phone during
class you may be asked to leave for the rest of the class: cell phone use
includes using it as a calculator or a clock during class. |
 | Cell phone use during an exam is considered an example of academic
dishonesty and may result in a failing grade. |
 | Academic dishonesty may result in a failing grade for the class. |

interferes with the learning process; |

affect your performance in this course. |
