The "W" in the KWL Chart |
The W in the KWL Chart is where your brain is allowed to explore the unknowns about the topic you will be reading about. In the space below the W on the chart you should write questions relating to the topic. What thoughts about the topic are you curious about? What kind of information do you want to know about the topic that you don't already know? What kind of information do you need to know in order to better understand particular areas about the topic? When we ask and explore questions, our brain is given the opportunity to critically think, enhancing our higher level thinking skills. |
