After You Read-Reflect |
- Review and recite the ideas you have read about. This improves your recall ability.
- Evaluate ideas, integrating your past knowledge with new ideas.
- Take time to form opinions about those ideas, writing your thoughts down.
- As you think about what you read, focus on the key points the author makes as they relate to the topic.
- Organize the information you have read about. Using an outline or web helps you to visually see the structure of reading material. When your brain understands how reading material is organized, you are better able to comprehend the important elements of a reading selection.
