Methods of
Instruction: The class
will be structured around lectures,
discussions and problem solving. There will be office hours
before each class. It is essential that you do your homework to benefit
fully from the class
Attendance: Attendance will be taken during each
class. Regular
attendance and punctuality will be required. Any student that
fails to attend class after the first two weeks will
be withdrawn by the instructor.
Grading
Policy: During the
semester you will be given four midterm-exams each
worth 100 points and a cumulative final worth 200
points. From the four exams,
I will drop your lowesr grade and keep
your highest grades.
A.
You
must get at least a total of 210 points (70%) four your three highest
mid-term exams..
B.
You
must get at least a total of 140 points (70%) on your final exam.
Successful
completion of
both parts A and B will result in a passing
grade of S (satisfactory) for the semester.
Failure to complete both parts successfully will U (unsatifactory) for
the semester.
Exams: Each exam will
be based upon assigned readings, homework and lectures. You must show
all of
your work to receive credit for a problem. Clarity and appearance will
usually
result in a higher score. FINALLY, ANYONE CUAGHT CHEATING WILL
RECEIVE A
GRADE OF “U” FOR THE COURSE. CHEATING CONSIST OF GIVING AS WELL AS
RECEIVING
INFORMATION DURING AN EXAM OR COPYING FROM ANOTHER PERSON’S EXAM.

If you wish to
withdraw from
the course, do not forget to officially withdraw through the
registrar’s
Office. FAILURE TO OFFICIALLY WITHDRAW WILL RESULT IN A GRADE OF
“U"
FOR THE COURSE! The last day to drop with a tuition
refund is Sep 11. The last day to officially withdraw without
penalty or
change to an audit is Oct 31.
