ITE 195 Topics in PowerPoint

For Stafford County Teachers, Spring 2006

Welcome to the training class for PowerPoint and preparation for the MOS certification exam. On this page you will find the course syllabus, special handouts and assignments.

Syllabus and schedules

SAM website

Expanded Project One Word document needed for Expanded Project One
Expanded Project Two Word Document (rtf) needed for Expanded Project Two
Expanded Project Three Prepared presentation Home Office needed for Web Project
Musings on PPT in classroom Word document
Spreadsheet with chart needed for Expanded Project 3

The class meetings are now completed. The deadline for work submission is 25 April 2006.
During the final class meeting, those in attendance were able to work through the Final Project, and have recieved credit for completing it. If you were not able to attend, the Final Project listed on the syllabus is Meeting Three exercises and a spreadsheet that must be imported. Download both these. During the last meeting, I also told the group about my experience taking the MOS cert exam. In the document, MOS Cert Review Items, you will find instructions on how to do tasks for the final project, as well as information on tasks that I faced in the cert exam, or things that could be on the exam which had not yet been covered in class. Please look at it before attempting the exam.

On the SAM site, there are 3 required exams (Proj 1-3). I also added the MOS practice test. That is NOT required, but I recommend trying it before certification testing. You may also want to contact Mary about practice software, and/or look through the MS Office Specialist Study Guide book published by Microsoft Press.

You may continue to take exams up until 25 April, but I would appreciate recieving work assignments sooner. You will receive an email confirmation from me that work was received. I grade them in batches so I cannot always give you an up to the minute accounting of where you stand. As we get closer to the end of the month, I will try and notify anyone whose work is missing so you can get it in on time.

GOOD LUCK! You have all been a pleasure to work with!
