COURSE DESCRIPTION

Provides a working introduction to microcomputer software, fundamentals, and applications. Includes operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software: Windows 7, Microsoft Word 2010, Excel 2010, PowerPoint 2010, Access 2010 and create a webpage by using HTML.  Lecture/lab 3 hours per week.

Attendance: Regular attendance is required in accordance with NOVA policy.
                        If students skip class more than 3 times without acceptable reason, they will
                        lose 10%.

 

HONOR CODE:

You may ask other students for help during lab (in fact, you are encouraged to do so), but each student is expected to do their own work. Any student caught cheating on exams or copying assignments will be turned in to the Honor Committee.

 


 

No make up Midterm and Final exams.  If students have problems, they must inform their reasons to instructor in advance.
Homework turned in must including a cover sheet with name, homework number, problem assigned as sample here. Otherwise, 10 points will be deducted.

§  Create a webpage about Halloween Holiday by your own design with all HTML technique that covered in class by using paragraph and font/color option.

§  Do Word Section 2 in textbook page 42-65 and Challenge 2 shown in figure 2.11 in textbook page76

§  Print out and upload all files to your website under folder HWset2

 

o   Homework Set 3 (due next week meeting)

§   (100 points) Use HTML to create a web page about the story of a song you choose by your own design.

§  Must use table, justify paragraph, font style/color, music background, link list and animation as samples here.

§  Download handout 3 HTML , animation picture and music data file, 

§  Print out and upload all files to your website under folder HWset3

 

o   Homework Set 4 (due next week meeting)

§  (100 points) Do Challenge 1 of WORD Section 3 in textbook page 117 and figure 3.17 page 118-119

§  Print out and upload all files to your website under folder HWset4
