AUTOMOTIVE POWER TRAINS I

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This course presents the operation, construction, and repair of power train components. Emphasis is to be placed on clutches, manual transmissions and transaxles, rear axle and differential assemblies, propeller shafts, drive axles, and universal joints. There will be a general overview of four wheel and all wheel drive systems and automatic transmissions, these topics are covered more in depth in the AUT 142 class. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

                                         D = 61-70

                                         F = 60 and below
