Gather at 9 a.m. in the plaza in front of the main entrance to the Bisdorf Building, Alexandria Campus. If the weather is inclement, move to the lobby inside the second set of doors. |

Unless your car displays a valid NOVA parking decal, you may not use campus parking lots, except at metered spots. |

Field trips go rain or shine, unless conditions cause the college to close. If unsure, call 703-323-3770 (or 703-330-3770 in Prince William County) or check the college's home page. |

what to bring

Notepad and pen; water or other beverage; bag lunch; hat; rain gear; shoes suitable for walking on slippery or rocky terrain; and clothing appropriate for the expected temperatures at Sharpsburg, MD. If you are susceptible to poison ivy, be sure to wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. |

The field trip is an open-air class. It involves moderately strenuous exercise and requires attention to a spoken commentary. Only registered students may attend. Do not bring pets, children or other companions. |
