Topics for Study

1.  How was the dispute of the Caliphate settled?  Discuss the political, social  and religious problems confronting the early Caliphs.
2.  Discuss the problems confronting the Muslim community following the death of Muhammad.  How were these conflicts settled.
3.  Was the War of the Riddah part of the Muslim conquest of the Middle East?  If so, why?  If not, why not.
4.  Generally, describe the differences in government or organization of the areas in Syria, Iraq, and Egypt during the period of the first four Khalifahs.  What problems resulted form the differences in government?
