Who were the kings that created a civilization lasting for 2,000 years?  What did these people contribute to the civilization of man?  What influence did the Egyptians have on the Hebrews concept of the one God?
The goal of this  website will be to present a  general account of Egyptian civilization from Pre-historic Egypt through the Twentieth Dynasty.  Special emphasis will be placed on the problems confronting the  18th Dynasty and, particularly,  the religious controversy surrounding the activities of Akhnaton.  The web pages for suggested readings, videos, and websites will be arranged chronologically.  These materials will assist the student with enriching their understanding of the history of Ancient Egypt.    The links found at the bottom of each web page will guide  the reader to some interesting information about people, religious attitudes, and traditional practices  without detracting from the general historic flow of the topic under consideration.
