This unit on the Japanese Shogunate (1568-1868) will cover a two hundred period that laid the foundation for traditional Japanese culture.
Three talented warriors unified Japan and established a political and social system that  resulted in a peaceful but isolated nation.  In isolation, Japan developed her own attitudes and habits distinct from the rest of East Asia.   This unit will examine the political, social, religious, and culture development of the period and offer a variety of  resources available for study.
