Description:
Learn the fundamental features of Oracle Database
Administration. Topics covered include identifying the main structure and
functionality of the Oracle Engine, Oracle 11g, examining physical file
structures that make up an Oracle database, starting up and shutting down,
creating an Oracle instance and managing users, roles and Oracle tablespaces.
Emphasis will be placed on DBA duties and tools, Oracle Database Administration
Features such as identifying the main structure and functionality of an Oracle
Instance, unloading and loading data using Oracle SQL statements and the SQL
LOADER utility and external tables. Classical Data Export Utility and Import
Utility, new Data Pump Export and Import Utilities, setting up of an audit
trail and basic tuning are also covered. Database cold and hot backup recovery
strategy will be discussed and practiced.
