General Advice
Make sure that you are tracking your progress
to your goals by taking advantage of the resources
on these pages. The single most important tool in
making sure that you are spending your time and resources
on the appropriate classes for your goals is your degree
progress report. Can can view your degree progress report
at any time from any computer with an internet connection
through NOVA connect. Specific directions can be found on
the link below.

Then plot out your semester using the academic calendar.
Make sure you note the date the graduation application
is due. This deadline is non-negiotable!

If you are not sure of a career path -try filling out the assessments on the
Virginia Education Wizard website.
If you have completed college level coursework at another institution and would like to transfer the
credit to NVCC you will need to request an official transcript from any college or university you have
attended previously. Please have the transcripts sent to the Admissions and Records office at the NVCC
campus most convenient for you. Contact information for the campus offices can be found below.

You will also need to submit a transcript evaluation form (found under the online form section of this webpage) to the same office.
