1. Use the four components of classical conditioning to describe a standard pairing procedure that would explain one of the following observations. Name each component and use them to explain how the behavior came to happen.

a. When Daniel hears a dentist's drill on a TV show, his hands become sweaty and his heart races.

b. When Natalie attends a wedding and hears the first notes of the “wedding march” song, tears come to her eyes.

 

2. Define and give education/classroom examples of these key components associated with operant conditioning: positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, and punishment (2 kinds). (In other words, how would a teacher use each component in a classroom, in order to influence student behavior?)
 
 

3. Imagine that you are a manager at a car dealership. You can choose to pay your employees in different ways. Give an example of how you would pay your employees using each of the following schedules. Which schedule(s) would lead your employees to work more--why?
