Call me if you would like to tour the automotive facilities and see the (41) program vehicles and equipment. While you're here, pick up booklets for the generic associates degree and certificates programs, General Motors associates degree program, collision repair program. Other courses offered: Emissions inspection licensing course (AUT 225)* 1 credit Provides training for certified inspectors in the Virginia State Emissions Inspection Program. Mechanical experience is desired, but not required. Please consult the latest NVCC catalog or schedule of classes online at www.nvcc.edu to find the next available classes. Classes are held at the Alexandria campus, once a week, for four consecutive weeks. The classes fill up fast, so enroll early! *If this is the only class you will be taking at NVCC, no placement test is required. This course is the Virginia certification course for the Certified Repair Technician (CRT) licensing program. Prerequisite for this course is AUT 215 (Emissions Diagnosis and Repair) or ASE A8. This course presents logical diagnostic strategies to identify and correct vehicle HC, CO and NOx emissions failures. Specifically addresses the technologies and techniques required for successful diagnosis and repair of vehicles failing Acceleration Simulation Mode (ASM) and Two-Speed Idle Mode Tests (on dynamometer "dyno"). Current ASM diagnostic equipment will be introduced, discussed, and usage demonstrated.
