Survey: Read the introduction, titles, headings, subheadings, (Summarize the chapter you surveyed in your words.)

Turn the titles, headings, and subheading into Questions and write them in this column.*
Read each section, and then Record the answers to the questions in this column.*










 (If needed, add additional space in the columns for your questions and answers.)

For the Recite & Review sections - Write a short summary of what you read.

After completing this process answer the following questions:
  • Did this process help you in remembering the information?
  • Did this process help you with comprehending the chapter?
  • Could using SQ4R be beneficial for you to use on a regular basis?


*After Surveying, an alternate method would be to turn each heading into a Question and write it out on a 3 X 5 notecard, and THEN Read to answer each question, and Record the answer on the back of the notecard.
