Each student's final grade is based upon completion of the required work of the course and adherence to the following course rules and guidelines
Please note:
- Class attendance is part of your grade. Missing classes detracts from your final grade. Students missing more than 2 weeks of class may not pass the course.
- Coming to class on time is also part of the final grade. Coming late to class twice is equal to one absence.
- Essays and papers are due on the DATE DUE at the BEGINNING of class. Work received after the DATE DUE will be lowered one letter grade and will not be marked with comments nor returned with the work of the rest of the class.
- Due to potential problems with PLAGIARISM, students should keep copies of working drafts of essays and papers. Suspicion of plagiarism requires a conference with the instructor and a potential grade of "F".
- Instructor usually requires one week to evaluate your essays, papers and exams.
- Any questions about your personal grades should be discussed with the instructor during office hours. See main page for office hours.
- Students intending to WITHDRAW from the course should notify the instructor and submit the appropriate form to Student Services before the last day to withdraw without grade penalty.
- If the student does not complete all the work by the end of the semester, a grade of "F" will be given. Students must stay with the class schedule.
- Make-ups for missed exams and in-class essays must be taken in the Testing Center in Room 332 of the Bisdorf Building week 13 of the semester. Make-ups will be more challenging than the original exam or in-class essay and will not be returned to the student until the end of the semester.
