Syllabus
 

I. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Students will gain and demonstrate an understanding of Classical and Western theories of state.
 
 

II. COURSE TEXTBOOK:

Classical Political Theories From Plato to Marx by Robert Brown. MacMillan.
 
 

III. COURSE CALENDAR:

The work load for a regular class session is approximately one and one-half chapters. Approximately 15 chapters will be covered.
 
 

IV. GRADING:

(1) Three to Four in-class essay exams (one hour each)

(2) One Final Examination (in-class essay form, ca. two hours)

(3) Attendance is required. Please check after class with instructor if you come late. Absence of approximately 25% of actual class time may result in no credit for the course.

(4) Participation required. A student is expected to complete reading assignments so as to respond in

class.
