Syllabus

I. Course Objectives

To demonstrate reading proficiency in Latin text.

II. Course Textbook:

Course texts change by the semester.  Students read from several selections or one.  Authors include Virgil, Ovid, Horace, Livy, Tacitus, Cicero and other Roman authors.  If there is a demand, medieval authors are included.

III. Grading:

Grades are determined by class preparation and one final exam.  Students are allowed the use of a dictionary during the final exam.  Absence of 25% or more of the classes will result in no credit for the course.
