News & Views Blogs - Interesting IT Information for Students
I publish three separate blogs on a variety of Information Technology
subjects for the general information needs, instruction, edification,
and amusement of IT students. For students who are studying other
fields, some the entries may well prove to be very interesting and
informative as well. The publishing times are not necessarily
daily or weekly - some days I may make several entries if I read a
variety of articles, papers, and other research publications that I
think may be useful for posting and reference. For most of the
entries I will make a short comment to tell you what the reference
is about, what you might learn from it, why it is interesting or
noteworthy, how it pertains to a subject we covered in class, or
whatever caught my attention. To avoid copyright problems I have
used links to the publicatons on the Internet. I had had
numerous students comment how much they have found of value. I
hope you find at least one article a week that you enjoy or find to be
valuable.

that form the IT world and

This blog provides links and commentaries on articles, papers, and other internet
sources that address issues of
IT hard technology - both
hardware and software. Accordingly, here you'll find issues and
instruction on things that amplify your learning in the areas of
networks, operating systems, cabling and plant infrastructure,
technical aspects of security, programming and software develomemnt,
and leading-edge/cutting-edge technology.

Social, Legal, Ethical, & Privacy News Clippings: Topics about
People and the World of IT
This blog provides links and
commentaries on articles,
papers, and other internet sources that address issues and social
concerns (what computers and information technology is doing to us, how
it is changing us and our society); how information technoogy provides
us with completely new or not so completely new ethical issues and
problems, such as intellectual property and theft, piracy, plagiarism,
and proper citation on Internet-based ideas and publications; how
information technology provides us new helps for quick identity
verification and also provides severe new challenges to our right to
privacy and freedom from disturbance (how electronic errors can affect
your life and your remedies).
