Indeed, a great deal of all managerial work involves interacting with other people, both directly and indirectly and both inside and outside the organization. This chapter is the first of seven that deal primarily with interpersonal processes in organizations. We begin by reinforcing the interpersonal nature of organizations. We then introduce and describe numerous elements of one important aspect of interpersonal relations, group dynamics.
